Our back garden is at most times of the day in the shadow of a huge Acacia tree as well as several Apple trees and large bushes.
Fighting a losing battle to try and revive our old lawn I decided to lay new turf myself two years ago.

Everything looked lovely... for a couple of months. Then gradually it started to die and was soon as bad as it was before.

I contacted Top Turf for advice and they explained the advantages of "RTF" Turf particularly with regard to shade tolerance and rapid re-growth should our dog have the occasional accident!

Top Turf did the job this time and it was all done within a day. After a full year I can say that the new lawn is thriving and is now a joy to look at.

 Shade and Drought Tolerant Turf

Rhizomatous Tall Fescue (RTF)

About RTF

RTF turf is a new type of tall fescue, one that produces rhizomes. Rhizomes are roots that grow outwards producing more shoots as it grows. The rhizomes are able to fill in and repair its self producing a really hard wearing lawn.

Why choose RTF turf

  • Drought tolerant due to deep roots, they go down about 1.5m.

  • It can repair itself through its rhizomes.

  • It can withstand family life i.e games of football etc.

  • Attractive appearance.

  • Maintains a good colour.

  • Reduced watering in dry spells.

  • Produces a dense matt of grass.
